The recent debate whether to celebrate the inclusion of Kashmiri Youth in Indian Administrative Services (IAS) or calling those as Indian collaborators, has taken up by the media, particularly our own Kashmiri Media, quite seriously. Some senior journalists and columnists have shown their resistance in using the word ‘collaborators’ to the qualifiers of IAS and have cautioned not to be general, while labelling them traitors, but to develop a certain red line. However, some are now even comparing IAS against Azadi (What will you choose: IAS or Azadi? By Waseem Dar ‘Reader Kashmir’ 10 June, 2016). In this delicate and debatable issue, I too have my reservations. I believe opinions in any debate may differ and difference of opinions should be taken optimistic in any progressive society.
